  Ada's Molasses Nut Bread

Ingredients:
2 3/4 cup Flour, sifted all-purpose
2 tsp Baking powder
1/4 tsp Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Nut meats, chopped
1/2 cup Seedless raisins
3/4 cup Molasses
1 Egg, beaten
1/4 cup Shortening, melted or oil
2 tsp Grated orange rind
Instructions:
Mix together and sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar
into a mixing bowl; add nut meats and raisins and mix together.
Combine the milk, molasses, egg, shortening and orange rind; add to
dry mixture and stir only enough to dampen flour. Bake in a greased
bread pan, 10x5x3 inch, in a moderate oven,
350 degrees F., for 1 1/4 hours.

This recipe makes a large loaf of fruit bread.
