Ingredients:
1 C. Dates, chopped
1 tsp. Soda
1 C. Water, boiling
1 Tbls. Butter
1 C. Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 C. Flour
1 tsp. Baking powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 C. Walnuts, chopped
1/2 C. Chocolate chips
Instructions:
In a large bowl, sprinkle soda over dates. Add boiling water and butter. Allow to cool. Add sugar, egg and vanilla and beat well. Add remaining ingredients and stir thoroughly. Pour into greased and floured baking pan (crock pot accessory). Bake in covered crock pot on high for 2 to 3 hours.
