Ingredients:
1 tsp. granulated sugar
4 Tbls. sugar replacement
1/3 C. buttermilk
1 egg, beaten well
1 C. flour
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
nutmeg, to taste
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. salt
oil, for deep fat frying
Instructions:
Combine sugars, buttermilk, and egg; beat well. Add remaining ingredients, except oil. Beat just until blended. Heat oil to 375 degrees F. Drop dough from doughnut dropper into hot fat. Fry until golden brown, turning often. Drain.
