8 ounces filet mignon
2 tablespoons truffle oil
capers for garnish
fresh ground black pepper for garnish


Instructions:
This is a very tasty recipe my Mom uses to prepare for breakfast on our yacht during the holidays at Lake Cumberland. She serves it with scrambled quail eggs. It is a rpemium although delicious day starter!

Freeze filet for an hour to prepare it for cutting. Slice the beef into paper-thin slices across the grain and arrange in a plate. If you're adding your own seasonings, whisk them together with the truffle oil in a small bowl. Otherwise, skip this and simply drizzle the oil over the arranged beef. Optionally, season with salt, hot pepper flakes, or any other dry seasoning and let sit for five to ten minutes. Garnish with the capers.
